 The Cooney Furlong Grain Co’s marketing, administration and quality assurance team work together to promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the business and the active promotion of quality in terms of product and service is central to the company’s philosophy. An important step towards this has been the adoption of our Food safety management system. This allows all aspects of the business to benefit from continual assessment and improvement in business practice. The company constantly seeks to improve the quality of product moving through the supply chain with special emphasis on the link between grower and primary processor.

As can be seen from the team below all members have excellent experience within the grain industry be it either in technical knowledge of the growing of quality grain or in further processing and management of stored grain.  

Walter Furlong, Managing Director, has over 20 years of practical experience in the business from the growing of the crop, to the processing and storage of the final product. He keeps a close eye on industry best practice and ensures that the company is always at the forefront of technology be that in crop establishment or in improved customer relationship management systems. He farms in excess of 2000 acres of cereals in Wexford.  Philip Reck is farm manager.

Kevin Cooney, Director, primarily looks after procurement/sales of grain and finance within the group.

Carmel McGrath is Marketing & Quality Manager for the Kevin Cooney Group. Carmel offers consultancy to the Cooney Furlong Grain Co. that is invaluable on all marketing and quality issues throughout the year.

Eoin Lowry M.Agr.Sc. MBA, is Grain Operations and Quality Manager for The Cooney Furlong Grain Co. with more than 10 years experience in grain intakes and cereal agronomy and responsible for customer specifications, quality system, and implementing continuous improvements initiatives.

Linda Kelly is Financial Controller for the company with over 10 years experience in this field. All costs and efficiencies are monitored and reported to both the operations manager and Managing director to constantly improve efficiencies with the overall aim of increasing the margin.

Siobhan Treacy  B.Agr.Sc. is our Chief Agronomist to the growers, ensuring that each grower is growing the crop that offers the best return for a given situation, and advising on weed and disease control throughout the growing season.

Michael Collins B.Agr.Sc. is the Sales Manager and liases with the customers on which products best suit their needs throughout the growing season.

Sineid Minchen B.Agr.Sc is Technical Sales Rep with the company. Crop walking is a major part of our quality assurance to ensurr that the right product is used to control disease

Fiona Cullen B.Agr.Sc. is Weighbridge Operator and Quality Team Leader. Fiona is responsibile to ensure that the quality of grain meets the customer specification and that traceability is available from field to store.

Padraig O'Brien is Yard Foreman ensuring all operations on site run smoothly.

The Company is also backed up by a strong Team of hard workers in the yard and on the farm during harvest and sowing. Without which the operation would not be possible.
